Introducing :: Soft As Snow

Continuing the Scandinavian takeover, Norwegians Oda Egjar Starheim and Øystein Monsen, known as Soft As Snow, are the latest to set pulses racing and bloggers blogging.

Starheim, a Goldsmiths art graduate who also works with performance installation and photography, met Monsen - a drummer and video artist - a few years ago at party in Oslo. This led to their first collaboration later when the former was performing a Yoko Ono-like street performance and roped Monsen in to document it.

The duo, now based in London, first came to attention when they uploaded three tracks to Soundcloud: 'Halo Heart', 'Black Birds' and 'Glass Body'.

Though their name may be a track of My Bloody Valentine, they bear more resemblence to Sweden's The Knife, exuding a fine sense of dark electro/shoegaze/dream-pop quality of their sound wallows in soundscapes of synth pads and the shimmering vocals of Starheim.
