Track Of The Day :: Factory Acts - Thirst

The lead track from the debut EP 'Thirst' by Salford-based post-punk dark-electro duo Factory Acts, is probably the ideal for those getting slightly bored with the usual run-of-the-mill electronica sound and looking for something that gels the finer elements of the genre with a few added edgy shades of darker matter thrown in.

Factory Acts - Susan O’Shea on vocals/synths and Matt Davies, bass/beats - was born in 2012 when they hit the local Salford gig circuit and self-released two singles, ‘Senseless’ and ‘Fantasy’, which earned them interest and airplay on BBC Introducing Manchester.

Not seemingly ones to rush the pace, two years on from their live debut, Factory Acts have just put out their first EP, 'Thirst'. Featuring four analogue-electronic tracks that combine O'Shea's haunting vocals with pulsating, otherworldly beats and rhythms of Matt Davies. And the title track is by far one that hits the ears in all the right places.

Factory Acts play a launch show for 'Thirst' tonight (July 5) at The Eagle Inn, Salford.

'Thirst' was released on July 4 thru AnalogueTrash Records.
