Take one bassist - Mazes' Conan Roberts - one vocalist/guitarist - Male Bonding’s John Arthur Webb - add Sophy Hollington from Novella, put them in a studio together and the result turns out as 'The Wait'.
Having known each other for some time and played on the same bills together at different times, the three Londoners decided to form the White Sands project as an adjunct to their other work, with their first track dropping in October.
'The Wait' is a very promising debut. Three and a half minutes of crisp post-punk grunge, with enough whirling riffs to guarantee your having to return for more; which given that at this stage there is not actually anything else out there from White Sands, you may well have to put this on repeat.
'The Wait' is released on October 6 via Art Is Hard.
