Listen :: My Brightest Diamond
New York songstress Shara Worden - My Brightest Diamond - has unveiled a second track from her forthcoming fourth studio album, 'This Is My Hand' - her first since 2011's 'All Things Will Unwind'.
Following previous taster 'Pressure', now comes 'Lover/Killer', with handclaps accompanying Worden’s distinctive and engaging vocal. Listen to the track below.
'This Is My Hand' was recorded in Berlin, New York, LA and Detroit with producer Zac Rae. Of the work, Worden said: “The genesis of the new album was looking at the changes that have happened in music over my career, and trying to re-evaluate what it meant to me in the first place: ‘what is the value of music’ is essentially the question. In the States, the marching band is something that is done in school, so it still represents something inclusive, something that anyone can learn. I loved the communal quality and the way that drums and horns travel in large three-dimensional spaces.”
My Brightest Diamond will play several UK dates at the end of her European tour in October.
October 28. Village Underground, London
October 29. Brudenell Social Club, Leeds
October 30. Òran Mór, Glasgow
'This Is My Hand' is out on September 16 thru Asthmatic Kitty.
