Always an artist able to wrench a few hearts, Deptford Goth aka Daniel Woolhouse releases his lovelorn new Deptford Goth releases lovelorn new single 'Two Hearts', the second track from sophomore album 'Songs', out November 3 (EU) (4th/US) via 37 Adventures / [PIAS]
The new track, with it's prayer-like repetition "love is enough" over a bleary piano riff and handclaps, appears on Deptford Goth's second full-length of intensely slow-burning gems. Where his debut album 'Life After Defo' had bits of hope hidden inside, 'Songs' touches a lighter note.
“Instead of closing down, I’m opening up and feeling more at peace with myself about certain things,” reveals Daniel. 'Songs' also bears the mark of its origins. Last year, Daniel left his London flat where he recorded and 'Life After Defo' for a place by the sea. “It’s pretty peaceful here,” he says. “And more space meant I could develop things a bit more.” Over 11 chapters, from dark to light and various points in between, 'Songs' is an exploration of that development.
