Mozaics may be a new name on the block, but some may remember the name Panda Cubs from last summer and their single 'Rise' - contemporary 80s-infused dark pop. Well, the name may have changed, but the faces remain the same...as does the sound more or less: skittering beats, pulsing melodies in an Interpol/Editors stylee.
"We asked people about us and one of the main things that we found was that people were put off by the name," ex-Panda Cubs, now Mozaics, member Matt Lyle tells us. "Since none of us were that attached to it we decided to do a re-brand as they call it!"
Newly monikered, the York/London three-piece have been busy over the last month's working on an EP ("we're still arguing about the title!") at Gilbert O'Sullivan's studio on the island of Jersey, which should see the light of day before the end of the year, along with some live dates.
'Dose' - which you can stream above and watch the video to below - is the first single from the EP, and will be followed by another prior to the EP release.
