Casual Sex Kick Up 'A Perfect Storm'
Glaswegian four-piece Casual Sex - who probably get more than a few checking them out simply by way of an unrelated Google search - follow up their pivotal EP release of last year, 'The Bastard Beat EP' (which found them acclaim in the US, a support tour with Franz Ferdinand, and an appearance at this year's SXSW festival), now come back with ‘A Perfect Storm’, their latest single release.
Full of swagger from frontman Sam Smith, along with a bevy of analog synthesisers and metronomic drums, 'A Perfect Storm' is perhaps the band's most expansive work yet. On the B-side, the calm, dreamlike reflection of 'A Perfect Storm' is replaced with a bold, near-manic two minute musical statement that is the ironically titled ‘Pissing Neon’.
'A Perfect Storm'/'Pissing Neon’ is released on October 6 thru We Can Still Picnic Records.
Live Dates:
September
13. Long Division Festival, Wakefield
October
06. CCA, Glasgow
07. Sebright Arms, London
10. Pleasance Theatre, Edinburgh
