If we wanted to be really harsh we would have to say that this Nashville-based outfit have a truly terrible name. Dinner And A Suit, it has to be said, does not inspire anyone to venture further, though we could of course be wrong.
The name we are given to understand alludes to the great-grandmother of cousins Jonathan Capeci (vocals) and guitarist Joey Beretta in some way. But with all due respect to her, it was a bad decision.
But name aside, since they have been around for a couple of years they are obviously doing something right. And the music is actually not at all bad (so, not to judge a book by its cover, etcetera).
They release their new EP 'Stay' on October 7, and you can hear the first taste via lead single 'Can't Get Enough' below.
Produced by Paul Moak (Lovedrug, The Weeks) at The Smoakstack in Nashville, 'Stay' was recorded live to tape - a first for Dinner And A Suit - and presents the band in their rawest state. “It was important for us to capture the vibe of our band on this EP,” says Capeci. “Recording live was a way to challenge ourselves in a way that we hadn’t before”
