First Listen :: The Rebel Light
Before you read any further. Stop. Press Play on the sound link below. Then sit back and close your eyes. Where do you see yourself? If you envisage a step back to the 60s, the California surf sound of the Beach Boys, you wouldn't be wrong - but you wouldn't be right either.
'Strangers' is the latest single from Los Angeles trio The Rebel Light, who may well sound as if they have stepped out of another era with their hazy retro California sound, but their DIY spirit firmly embodies the spirit of present-day indie, producing and engineering all their own music, recording vocals in a bathroom and the drums in a woodshed.
Comprised of two brothers, Alan and Jarrett Steil and cousin Brandon Cooke, The Rebel Light (formerly known as Suddyn) previously delved into the 60s with a self-titled EP released last year and the single 'Jukebox Dream'.
'Strangers' is out on November 24.
