Track Of The Day :: Kid Wave - Wonderlust
Swedish/Australian contingent Kid Wave - now based in London - are set to release their latest single, 'Wonderlust', on March 30 via Heavenly Recordings.
Produced by Dan Austin (Doves, Cherry Ghost) as part of the band’s album sessions at Eve Studio in Stockport, it will mark their third single, and the follow-up to last year's 'All I Want', and 'The Gloom' EP.
The fuzzy, hooked-up guitars and blissful harmonies set against Lea Emmery's vocal spirals on shoegaze swirls makes for an effortless and dreamy two minutes and fifty-four seconds.
Initially starting out in 2011 as a solo project for Lea Emmery after moving to London from the East coast of Sweden, by 2013 the line-up had been augmented by the addition of Serra Patale (originally from Perth, Australia) on drums, Harry Deacon on bass, and Mattias Batt (who hails from the same town in Sweden as Lea) on guitar.
Having last year played alongside Childhood, The Wytches, TOY and The Orwells, and most recently appeared at the Heavenly 25 weekend in Hebden Bridge, the band have announced their own run of headline dates in March. They also play a free acoustic in-store at Rough Trade West on the day of release. Full dates below.
