'Loosen Up' is the second track unveiled by Gillbanks, the London-based Sam Gillbanks (vocals, guitars, bass, keys) and Hugo Heaverman (drums, production) - plus Nathaniel Mason on cello on the upcoming album - who we first introduced in January here.
After studying music at Falmouth University, Sam Gillbanks (ex- of math rock outfit Little Leagues) began working with Heaverman and both previous single 'Anxious?' and 'Loosen Up' are the result, and will appear on the duo's debut ten-track album 'Lived-In', which is digitally released on March 23 thru Wavey Head.
Whereas 'Anxious?' was more about distorted guitar work and attacking drums, on 'Loosen Up' they have ... loosened up. Less intense, more melody to the fore, with light chiming guitars and harmonies lend an ambient, refined air.
