March 13 2015 - Hot Top Ten

LOWER DENS - ONDINE
Sounding like it's fallen straight down from the 60s, the Baltimore dreampoppers go for gauzy spiderweb guitar lines with Jana Hunter's emotional alto on this track from their third album, 'Escape From Evil', out March 31 on Ribbon Music.

CIARAN LAVERY & RYAN VAIL - THE COLOUR BLUE
Sparse and haunting collaboration between alt-folk singer Lavery from Ireland, and Vail, a minimal electronic artist. Taken from EP 'Sea Legs', released via Quiet Arch on April 17 in Ireland and April 20 UK.

THE HOLYDRUG COUPLE - DREAMY
The Chilean duo (Ives SepĂșlveda and Manuel Parra) go all-out psychedelic dreampop on this track, layering synths and dreaminess, taken from the full-length 'Moonlust', out via Sacred Bones on May 12.

LIZZY - MAGIC
Alt-pop from Montreal-based singer/songwriter Lysanne Picard who composes on ukulele and transforms into synth-naive-pop tunes in the cloudiness of her computer. Taken from her self-produced, just released 'Clowds' EP.

TURTLE - SILENT WEAPONS
Alt-electronic project created and curated by Scottish producer Jon Cooper. Ghostly synths and a looped, acoustic guitar create a melodic gem. Taken from his forthcoming EP ‘Colours’, out May 11 via Beatnik Creative.

ELSA - NEVER COME DOWN
Dreampop title track by the Toronto five-piece from the new EP - the follow-up to 2013’s 'I Do' EP - released on March 31 via One Big Silence. Blended guitar and low in mix vocals and harmonies adds melodic smoothness.

UNDER THE SUN - PLACE
Fusing blues riffs with indie rock'n'roll, this is the lead single from the North London quintet's just released debut EP, 'Neither Here Nor There'. Catch them at 93 Feet East, London on April 9.

FAITH HEALER - CANONIZED
Jessica Jalbert lends dulcet vocals to the Edmonton, Canada lo-fi, ’60s psych influenced outfit, with fuzzy guitars and harmonies.  Taken from 'Cosmic Troubles' LP, released on March 31 thru Mint Records.

BABBLING APRIL - SUNNY DAY RECORDS
Dream-fuzz rock single cut from the Dayton, Ohio, quartet's self-titled debut EP, out last month, that lends edgy guitar work to a summery pop feel.

PRINCESS - BLACK WINDOW
New single from the Irish duo. Off-kilter psych pop that veers between sharp guitar stabs and shimmering percussion. Catch them live for a hometown show at Whelans, Dublin on March 20 with Peace.
