We know all the best jellies need to give a little wobble, taste good and whet the appetite with their fruity flavour. All apposite in describing this new single - called 'Jelly', would you believe - by Mmdelai, released on April 11.
Mmdelai is the solo dreampop electronic project of New Zealand-born, now Melbourne, Australia-based, Annemarie Duff (Miniatures, Pinn'd). Described as "ethereal electronica", she fuses together deep beats, shimmering synths and woozy vocal layers. She has released two EPs with California label Bleeding Gold Records, with a further record due later this year through French label, Irradiant Hologram.
On 'Jelly' Mmdelai creates boldly intricate layers that are melodic and entrancing, with beat-skipping kick-drums slotted around her chilled vocals and experimental touches.
