'I'm Your Lion' is five-and-a-half minutes of something that sounds like it could have come straight from the unknown Norwegian brothers of Elias Bender Rønnenfelt crossed with Death From Above 1979.
One of four new tracks uploaded online by the Oslo drum 'n' bass post-punk duo Burning Motherfuckers - the first work from the Motherfuckers (Øystein Monsen and Thomas Eggum) since their self-titled mini-album debut of 2012 - and which were written and recorded in Oslo, London and "the Swedish forest", and mixed by Eystein Hopland from Voices of Wonder band Sister Rain.
Whilst I am clueless as to what Eggum is on about in his dark tones - touching on lions, spaceships, galaxies and heaven knows what else as it gets spacier and heavier - 'I'm Your Lion' is the kind of noise that does grow on you in ... in a weird way.
