Right up Little Indie's street is this latest track from Toronto's Fake Palms. 'Sparkles', taken from their upcoming self-titled album, is out on August 28 thru Buzz Records.
The four-piece (initially the solo project of musician Michael le Riche, before earlier this year enlisting members of Slim Twig, Tropics and Hooded Fang - drummer Simone TB, bassist Patrick Marshall, and guitarist Lane Halley) might bill themselves as 'noise pop', but this is more one four-minute fragrant melding of psych and shoegaze. Opening on squally feedback, it soon moves into a psychy trip of reverb, layered harmonies and pop shoegaze reverie, that does indeed 'sparkle'.
