The Maccabees Announce New Single // Extra January 2016 Brixton Date Added

The Maccabees - who recently celebrated their first ever UK number one album with ‘Marks To Prove It’ - release their new single, ‘Spit It Out’, on November 4 via Fiction Records.

One of the album's standout tracks, ‘Spit It Out’ is sonically one of The Maccabees most ambitious songs to date. A live favourite, the track opens with just Orlando Weeks’ vocal backed by piano before building to a thrilling climax of crashing guitars, drums and the central refrain "what are we doing now" sung over and over.

The band have also announced their involvement in a feature-length documentary called ‘Elephant Days’. The film was commissioned by The Maccabees and Fiction Records, directed by James Caddick and James Cronin and weaves together six day-to-day stories from Elephant and Castle, including the band writing and recording their latest album in their own studio. The film will have its global premiere as part of the BFI London Film festival on October 12.

The Maccabees have added a third night on January 23 to their previous two at London's Brixton Academy in January. Sign up to the band's mailing list for pre-sale access for the new Brixton date (pre-sale starts tomorrow, September 16 at 9:30am, general sale Friday September 18 at 9:30am).
