Track Of The Day :: Night Beats - Sunday Mourning
Words: Ellie Ward
New signings to London-based label Heavenly Recordings, Seattle-based Texan trio Night Beats have just unveiled their latest track, ‘Sunday Mourning'.
The track is taken from their upcoming debut album for Heavenly, ‘Who Sold My Generation’, out on January 29, which was recorded on old two-inch tape at the Los Angeles home of producer Nic Jodoin and features co-production from guest bassist Robert Levon Been of Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. It follows two earlier cassette releases on Trouble In Mind and Burger Records, their self-titled debut in 2011 and last full-length, 'Sonic Bloom', on the Black Angels’ label Reverb Appreciation Society in 2013.
‘Sunday Mourning' merges scorching garage-psych with a rough-edged rock n roll flavour of squally guitars and grainy soul inflected vocals.
The band head over to Europe early next year, kicking off with seven dates in UK/Eire:
JANUARY 2016
21 Dublin, The Grand Social
22 Leeds, Headrow House
23 Glasgow, ABC
24 Manchester, Soup Kitchen
25 Nottingham, The Lofthouse
26 Brighton, The Hope & Ruin
27 London, Oslo
