Introducing :: Electric Exiles

Words: Ellie Ward

Adelaide's Electric Exiles kick off 2016 by sharing a second track from their upcoming debut EP 'Hot Yoga'.

'Charlie's Boots' - which the band describe as "a punk song for romantics" - follows 'A Dizzy Fashion' which the four-piece released last summer from the self-produced EP due out in April, which was mixed by Dylan Adams (DMA's).

Drawing on influences from garage rock sounds from the 60s, 70s and 90s, the band - who formed in 2014 and include Catalano brothers Danny and Teon on bass and drums respectively - get down to business straight away on 'Charlie's Boots'. It may be brief at just two minutes long, but it sure makes up for that by packing in John-Paul James's fast and furious high energy vocals over catchy jangly guitars and a rumbling rhythm melodies.

Electric Exiles are: John-Paul James (vocals), Danny Catalano (bass), Matt Quaglia (keys), Teon Catalano (drums)

Electric Exiles support The Preatures at Adelaide's Fat Controller this Friday, January 8.
