Jack Colleran is the 22-year-old Irish electronica artist and producer from Co. Kildare known as MMOTHS, and unless you knew that it might be easy to assume from both the texture of this track 'Eva' and the Jonas Lindstroem-directed video, that this was something created by a Scandinavian.
'Eva' is both the first song MMOTHS wrote for his upcoming 'Luneworks' debut full-length - out via his own label OYAE in conjunction with Because Music on March 11 - and the first cut from the record.
Passionate, and rich in symbolism, the video depicts the emotional rollercoaster of a relationship, and is beautifully shot - as one might expect from a fashion photographer like Lindstroem.
For MMOTHS, Luneworks is the end result of an important moment in his life. Ignited by a time of personal upheaval, he left his native Ireland to spend a month hoped up in Los Angeles with nothing a laptop, a few changes of clothes and a determination to write and complete this record.
The end result is an often harsh, desolate, yet quite beautiful, complex and spellbinding piece of work.
