Watch :: Vaults take to an abandoned school to film 'Midnight River' video

Words: Alison Mack

We first wrote about the London electronica outfit Vaults back in September 2013 when they had suddenly emerged into tastemakers' consciousness with their debut 'Cry No More'. At that time we said how they were "riding a low, low profile, but with this [the song] look set for high definition."

How right we were! With a signing to EMI, the release of four EPs and a raft of acclaim, Vaults now kick of their 2016 activities with the release of the video for new single 'Midnight River'.

Bringing Blythe Pepino's vocals against clipped electro beats and icy synths in a polished production finish, the Jovan Todorovic-directed visuals - filmed in an abandoned school - highlight Blythe in a choreographed dance setting, move her way in and out of bare rooms, before waking from the ecstasy induced dream to find herself by...the midnight river of the title.
