Track Of The Day :: Villiers - Wandering

Words: Linn Branson

Ramping up the synths and atmospherics, Villiers are no strangers to Little Indie, being a band we have championed since late 2013 when they produced first track 'Heavy Heart', followed in 2014 with the rather excellent 'The Dancer'.

The former trio, now four-piece, from Manchester/North West area, are back with their latest "dreamy, yet dramatic" single, 'Wandering', which is out on June 3.

The just shy of four-minutes track opens on darkly hypnotic synth loops and pacey electro beat before Ben Earnshaw's prominent vocals come in to kick the whole package up into a vibrant, foot-tapping synth-pop work, with influences coming from the likes of Depeche Mode, New Order and Bronski Beat.

"Lyrically, it attempts to tell a tale of angst set against the backdrop of a club scene, if that makes sense?" vocalist Ben tells us.

Check out 'Wandering' below.
