Phobophobes honour late guitarist George Russell with gig to celebrate his life

“On June 18 this year it was with shock and great sadness that we heard of the passing of our friend and guitarist. We have organised a day in his memory on what would have been the weekend before his 25th birthday.” Phobophobes

In memory of George Russell, London-based quintet Phobophobes will host and play at a day long festival at Brixton Windmill on Saturday September 10 with a host of local bands including The Rebel, Goat Girl, Sweat, Meatraffle and members of Fat White Family. Proceeds from the day will go towards the publication of a book of poems and lyrics written by George. For more info on this one day event go to Facebook here.

Phobophobes who have clearly had their worlds torn apart and disrupted to a degree most will fortunately never have to know, but it is testament to their love for each other and the art they believe in that Phobophobes will continue.

The band also have an epic and bold new single called ‘Human Baby’ due for release in November with a stunning B-side entitled ‘Free The Naked Rambler’ which was also the last track George ever recorded with the band.

Phobophobes will be heading out on tour supporting Telegram between October 27 - November 3 on their UK Tour.
