[Video] Methyl Ethel - No. 28
Words: Sam Geary
Western Australia's Methyl Ethel is the uninhibited alt-pop project from Perth musician Jake Webb. Bar last year's 'Oh Inhuman Spectacle' debut album (and an appearance at The Great Escape in May), they have been a tad quiet.
But now they are back with a new single, 'No. 28'. The track was co-produced by Webb and London producer James Ford (of Simian Mobile Disco and has also produced for Arctic Monkeys, HAIM and Florence And The Machine). The trio have also revealed a video for the art-pop-stroke-psych-textured work.
Directed by Olivier Groulx, the black-and-white clip features a couple - Rachel Meyer, the video's choreographer, and Andrew Bartee
- performing a dance routine of contemporary and ballroom styles. Watch above.
