Introducing/Track Of The Day :: Modern Comforts - Easy Tiger
Words: Sam Geary
Four-piece indie rock outfit from Burton-on-Trent, Staffs, Modern Comforts have drawn on influences from Arctic Monkeys, The Strokes and Catfish and the Bottlemen, to produce their debut single, 'Easy Tiger'.
After putting out their first five-track EP, 'Entertain Me, Don't Serenade Me', in October 2015, the band - all aged 21, except drummer Nick who is 18 - spent last year honing their sound and gigging locally, before digitally releasing just before Christmas, 'Easy Tiger'. There's an infectious, young and hungry energy to the track, which Modern Comforts deliver well, with vocalist Connor Curran giving off plenty of frontman swagger.
The band play a home show at The Royal Oak in Burton-on-Trent on February 3.
Modern Comforts are: Connor Curran - vocals, Conal Morton - bass, Louis Ranyard - guitar, Nicholas Kerry - drums.
