10 Little Indie Hot Picks





Ten of the latest hot picks that have been rockin the player at Little Indie HQ over the last weeks.


THE BOHOS - BORN FRUSTRATED

First featured by Little Indie last year, Liverpool's foursome The Bohos start off 2018 with this infectious Al Groves (Bring Me The Horizon, Paris Youth Foundation) produced Britpop-esque sounding single, released February 23 on Anvil Records.




MOIR - I CAN'T BLEED

London-based singer-songwriter Sarah Moir's latest single from her debut EP released February 22. The follow up to last year's debut single 'The Truth Is', is wrapped in layers of choral harmonies, fusing harsh electronic textures with Moir's captivating vocal.




NIGHT FLOWERS - CRUEL WIND

Taken from their forthcoming debut album, 'Wild Notion', the London five-piece pull out a seven-minute shoegaze soundscape, complete with the shimmering vocals of Sophia Pettit.




THE CLOCKWORKS - RUMOURS IN THE STOCKROOM

Galway four-piece unleash an indie punk two and a half minutes on this punchy new release, filled witb sharp lyrical observations delivered by James McGregor with a swaggering vigour.




AUGUST - SBU

Releasing a new track on the last Friday of each month, this is February's offering from London-based singer-songwriter Steve Hughes. After January's '1000 Suns', here on this second number he packs a soulful vocalled punch over soaring synths, which he explains is "about feeling like everything is somehow falling away and you’re desperately trying to cling to the ones you need the most."




DENIO - BORN AGAIN

Released last week, the Liverpool quartet return with this positive message about new relationships and the joy that comes with them, as the follow up to previous three singles, 'Models', 'Cait' and 'Golden'. Vivid guitars, thudding bass and melodious instrumentation back Mike Davis' soaring vocal lead.




OCNS - IF I'M A GHOST

The alt-indie sextet from Raleigh, North Carolina have just released this first single of the year. After a muted intro, the song rolls over three minutes, building over Isaac Buna's - very un-ghostly - vocal to a big finale.




SWELL SPELLS - DEMONS

Debut offering from the California indie rock trio, combining a fast-paced, lo-fi punk essence with catchy stylings and plentiful riffs. The song, say the band, is about "anxiety and its desperate, uncontrollable nature."




THE PALE WHITE - LOVELESS

After putting out their self-titled EP last year, the Newcastle three-piece - a Little Indie One To Watch 2018 - drop this catchy, bombastic new John Martindale produced single, released last week. Catchy riffs work in tandem with Adam Hope's soaring vocal and brother Jack's drumming to create a stadium-sized anthem.




FIRESTATIONS - RECEIVER

Out now on Lost Map Records, the punchy, guitar-driven follow up to last year's 'Build A Building', filled with infectious melodies, hazy vocals and hypnotic synths, from the north-east London five-piece.
