Track Of The Day :: Dogeyed - Dry

Credit: Jonathan Minto

Words: Ellie Ward

Bristol-based "sad, sappy indie suckers" Dogeyed release 'Dry', one of five tracks on 'Throw The Bones' 12", out on May 11 on UK DIY punk/indie rock label, Specialist Subject Records.

'Dry', described by drummer Jonathan Minto as "soft and sad, just like us", is a song about overcoming loneliness. The strong vocals take the pace at a stroll with an American West Coast flavour, while the instrumentation complements in unobtrusive style. It's a slow grower of a number that seeps into the consciousness rather than bombarding it.

Initially the solo project of Elder, she’s now been joined by Minto (who also plays in Caves), and Tim Rowing-Parker (from Woahnows) - who also produced the EP - on bass to complete the Dogeyed trio.

The accompanying one-take video was made by vocalist and guitarist Harriet Elder on a recent trip to Melbourne, Australia.
