Words: Ellie Ward
High Wycombe indie rock quintet Only Sun are about to drop new single ‘Youth’ on July 1, but as we love it and couldn't wait, Little Indie is sneaking in a few days early with its premiere.
Going for an ambitious 'one song a month' release throughout 2018, 'Youth' follows June's offering 'Indigo'. Propelled by driving drums and a fast-paced energy, 'Youth' is fuelled with scuzzy, shimmering riffs and a sunny exuberance to carry you through the summer, whilst drawing from early/mid noughties anthemic upbeat bands like The Strokes, Arctic Monkeys and Kings of Leon.
"We wanted to draw influence from these bands as they soundtracked our lives growing up and we wanted to reflect that in the track," say the band. "We also drew influence from more recent bands that we look up to in the industry such as Circa Waves, Marsicans and Vistas."
