Directed by Henry Kinder and Wyatt Winborne, New York's alt-rock quartet Active Bird Community have unveiled their video accompaniment to new single ‘Unwind With Me’.
The cut precedes their forthcoming album 'Amends', set for release on September 14 via Barsuk Records.
There’s lyrical depth to their output and their music is brutally honest, but not without being completely infectious. The clip here was shot in the back of a moving truck dressed up like an apartment, it really conveys the unsettled displacement of the track.
“We considered a few different options for how to pull this off, but at the end of the day, the only way to achieve the natural claustrophobia amidst the constructed world that we imagined was to practically build the apartment into the actual bed of a truck," explains Kinder.
"This choice created tight parameters within which we had to work, but it felt like the only way to achieve exactly what we wanted: to visually represent this state of unsettled displacement that we were both feeling at the time and that we were hearing in the song.”
The group also have a run of North American shows to coincide with the album release.
