Track Of The Day :: Paris Street Rebels - Freakshow

Words: Linn Branson

They're not French, but they are rebels, and this debut single is going to set Ballingry, Fife four-piece Paris Street Rebels - who just last weekend played their first gig in Glasgow - on the path to tastemaker attention.

Produced by Johnny Madden (of Baby Strange, and Glasgow producer-to-go-to, having worked with two more of Little Indie's favourite locals this year - The Dunts and Voodoos) and Chris Marshall (The Dunts, Rascalton), ‘Freakshow’ fires out of the cannon with an incendiary five and a half minute burst of solid punk’n’roll, that scorches its way through blistering drums, razor sharp riffs and an anti-establishment call-to-arms lyrical manifesto:

"We're not in it for the money, the free love, or alcohol honey / What we needs a little more frightening tea and toast down the rabbit hole / We're not in it for the money, and I know it sounds a bit funny / From Westwood to Kreuzberg we sing, for the lonesome souls in our forgotten towns"

Fierce, forceful they may be, but Paris Street Rebels have armed themselves with an infectiously accessible sound that will get front rows moshing and ears unable to resist.

Paris Street Rebels are: Kevin Murphy (lead vocals, guitar), Grant 'G' Malcolm (vocals, rhythm guitar), Jordan 'Jazz' McLean (bass), Cameron Gaudin (drums)

  1. Cool band that I recently discovered. That is almost as great as hearing a favorite song that you totally forgotten.
    Keep on rocking 👍
