'Heaven Adores You', Violet, it does!

Words: Sam Geary

Birmingham/Lichfield five-piece Violet release their new single, ‘Heaven Adores You’, the follow up to 'Jaded' from earlier in the year, tomorrow (October 12) via HolyHowl.

Likened to the ambiance of Slowdive, the mystique of The Horrors and the melancholy of Suede, Violet mix pedal immersed guitars with intricate drums and powerful basslines that combined create a unique ethereal, yet captivating sound.

“This song is one we all hold a little closer to our hearts and we spent so long drifting in and out of the studio to make it sound perfectly like it did in our heads," says the band's Luke Brickett Haycock. "The song is a kind of retrospective view of an entity that you admire that isn’t on this big floating ball we call earth anymore, how they perceived themselves whilst affecting the world around them, and for us that was a message to Elliott Smith.”
