Astrid S releases personal new track 'The First One'

Words: Sam Geary

Nordic pop star Astrid S has released her personal new track 'The First One', out now via Island Records/Virgin EMI Records/Universal Music Norway.  The track is taken from her forthcoming EP, due this summer.

On the track, Astrid teamed up with a host of collaborators including Jason Gill (Bebe Rexha, Zara Larsson), Justin Tranter (Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga) and Amy Allen (Selena Gomez, Shawn Mendes). Reminiscent of Astrid’s break-out debut track ‘Hurts So Good’ - which has amassed over 200 million streams on Spotify alone – ‘The First One’ is an honest and emotional reflection on the damaging effects a first love can have on following relationships.

“'The First One' is about how your first love can affect you for a long time, often at the expense of your later relationships," she says. "I got to sing this song on tour before it was released which was a really cool experience because I was able to see everyone’s reaction and people’s faces when they heard the song for the first time. I’m so excited to put it out for everyone to hear it!”
