If their name alone isn't enough to warrant a second look, then the sound of Australian four-piece Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers certainly is.
Their new single 'Desk Chair' is a high end gritty, grunge-rock affair that the Canberra-based, 19-year-old girls offer as a “tribute to teenage feelings”.
Following last year's 'I Like That You Like That' and 'See You In A Bit (I Still Care)', 'Desk Chair' moves them on in terms of style, introducing more pop elements alongside Anna Ryan's infectious vocal and grungey guitar base, across the three minutes that make it a simply great track. These gals have balls!
“'Desk Chair' is a tribute to teenage feelings, and the problems that seem life-changing but turn out to be insignificant,” says guitarist Scarlett McKahey. "It’s about self-sabotage and wanting what you don’t have.”
