Track Of The Day :: Dip Road Dogs - Lazy
Words: Ellie Ward
That psych-Americana four-piece Dip Road Dogs, who hail from Victoria, Australia, chose to record their new EP, 'Shakshuka' (set for release on May 21), in Nashville, Tennessee comes across prominently in dreamy, Country-fied new single, 'Lazy'.
For those who relish the deep, rich vocals that convey an unassuming emotional force as displayed by singer Dave Chirnside, along with the most haunting cello inserts you can imagine, then 'Lazy' is a laid back delight, that lyrically is about a relationship where one partner is not pulling their weight with the household chores and the other becomes fed up with this behaviour and finally leaves for greener pastures. “It’s a warning to everyone to make sure you mow the lawns and do the dishes or you will end up alone!” quips Chirnside.
Listen now - you 'won't look back'.
