Edinburgh rockgaze outfit Cameo Habitat are back with a new single 'Trace of Self', the follow-up to last year's 'Reside'.
Out today (February 19), the reflective two and a half minutes filters intense lyrics of subjugating the self in the effort to fit in through the brooding vocals of Rowan Gallacher, accompanied by strident guitars.
"The song embodies the idea of changing your personality and outlook in the presence of others, being so caught up in the strive for acceptance that you forget the qualities and core values that you used to have," shares Gallacher.
"What used to be one's true self has been washed away by the pursuit, now they are only left with a distorted vision of someone that they used to be."
