Following along the same line as SXSW, organisers of The Great Escape festival, which is usually takes place in Brighton in May, have announced today (February 26) that this year's event will now be a virtual online edition.
In a statement they said:
"We can now confirm that The Great Escape 2021 will no longer be taking place in Brighton this year, however, we will be taking The Great Escape online for the first time. On 13th - 14th May 2021 you can expect a huge snapshot of the best new artists showcasing their talents.
"We'll be back next year in real life on 11th-14th May 2022 and as usual, you will be able to buy a festival ticket or delegate pass."
The line-up for The Great Escape Online has still to be announced.
2021 ticket holders will be sent a loyalty discount link for the online edition, and those with tickets for this year or 2020 can either roll these over to 2022 or request a refund.
Tickets are available here at £45 for this year's online edition.
