EMA Marks Return With Satellites
Erika M. Anderson - aka EMA, and formerly half of Gowns with Ezra Buchla - has announced details of her forthcoming sophomore album, 'The Future's Void' - the follow-up to her 2011 debut 'Past Life Martyred Saints'. The album will be released next spring thru City Slang (Europe) and Matador (worldwide).
'Satellites', its lead single, comes with this description from the songstress herself: "Satellites explores the places where everyone has equal access but is also under constant surveillance. A young westerner imagines life in the former Soviet Bloc. We fought the wars with information."
Highlighting her typically distorted vocals, it is both eerie and compelling; colliding with piano and violin thrusts, synth strikes and a mechanised drum loop.
