Track Of The Day :: Smiling Disease - Lame

'Lame' is the final track unveiled by Smiling Disease - aka Olly Moss of Evans The Death - from his debut album 'Beach Bodies: 2008-2014', a compilation of over six years' of bedroom recordings, which is out today (April 5) on cassette and digital release (see Bandcamp link at foot of post).

Recording since the age of 14 (mainly in his mum's house in Chelmsford), using old type microphones and whatever instruments he could borrow from friends or 'borrow' from school, which is what you can hear on the 18 tracks that comprise the album.

After previously sharing 'Double Locked' and 'The Klingon Race', the hauntingly and delightfully scratchy 'Lame' comes as a lo-fi, goth-pop shoegaze anthem, one that evokes a sonic spaciousness. It was originally released as part of Memorials of Distinction's debut compilation cassette, but this single version has been mastered at the hands of the renowned Rory Attwell.
