May 8 2015 - Hot Top Ten

HOPIUM - RIGHT NOW
Melbourne electronic duo we first featured here last August, now back with new single out on May 15. Slick production of minimal R&B with reverbed vocals and synthesised beat.

CAPE CUB - SWIM
The 22-year-old Newcastle artist follows up last autumn's debut single 'Lantern' with this equally impressive, simple, sparse, but undoubtedly compelling track. Catch him live at The Great Escape next week.

SWARM - HEY (WHAT'S YOUR NAME?)
Released on May 20, the debut single from the newly formed Exeter four-piece who deliver a certain amount of sass, swagger and catchy indie rock vibes. They play live next at London's Amersham Arms on May 30.

IMMACULATE HEART - COMFORT YOU
Delicate vocals in an organic mix of acoustic and electronic sounds, via the bedroom project of New Yorker Brandon Powers-Green. Taken from his debut EP 'Our Martyrdom', out on Rose Records on May 30.

VAGUEWORLD - REGRET EVERYTHING IMMEDIATELY FOREVER
Three-piece indie Oxford crew with the title track from new and second EP. Catch them at The Cellar in Oxford on May 9.

MADE IN HEIGHTS - SLOW BURN
Los Angeles duo sizzle and smoulder with Kelsey Bulkin taking charge of smokey vocals, and alt-hip hop producer/Das Racist collaborator Sabzi, the production. From their album 'Without My Enemy What Would I Do', out May 26.

ALPINE - COME ON
From the Aussie outfit's second album 'Yuck', out June 16 via Votiv. Thudding rhythmic heartbeat and beautifully harmonized vocals from dual frontwomen, Phoebe Baker and Lou James.

CLAY - OUT OF YOUR MIND
Falmouth-based alt-rock four-piece with a less rocky track from their self-titled debut EP released June 3. Playing MONO, Falmouth on May 26.

THE YETIS - WHERE YOU GOIN'
Introduced here in March, the Philly quartet offer a fresh taste of jangle surf - out May 30 - from their 'Lonely Tandem Ride' EP.

RHODES - CLOSE YOUR EYES
Out June 14, the new single: a soaring, atmospheric melancholia ballad from the debut album ‘Wishes’ (produced by Rhodes and James Kenosha), released September 4.
