We said when we heard Australian three-piece Glades' debut track 'Falling Away' at the beginning of August (they have also covered Troye Sivan’s 'Fools') that they'd be a band we'd be hearing a lot more of. Two months on and the Sydneysiders return with new single, 'Her (Loving You)', which is released digitally today, October 7.
With the Oz 'new buzz band' light shining brightly on them, while 'Her (Loving You)' may only be their second original track put out, they have all the makings of a band who will be figuring highly on tastemakers' lips in 2016. It's hard not to rhapsodize over 18-year-old Karina Wyke's voice, but if ever Australia could claim their own Hannah Reid (London Grammar), then this is the girl. Add to that an incandescent percussion smattering, layered guitars and hypnotic synth work, and you have something that creates a little bubble of excitement for their upcoming debut EP.
