Track Of The Day :: Rory Wynne - Why Don't You?

Words: Linn Branson

Already making quite a name for himself with support shows with Rat Boy and Blossoms, airplay on Radio 1 and Radio X - as well as being an erstwhile Little Indie writer! - what 16-year-old Stockport native Rory Wynne lacks in years he certainly makes up for in the amount he has crammed in in just a couple of years.

Already on to his second single ‘Why Don’t You?’, which was released yesterday (October 9) through James Skelly’s label Skeleton Key Records, this latest track once again highlights his penchant for short, spiky songs, though this time with quite poignant lyrics, as he pleads with someone to tell him why they don't return his calls - which makes him "feel like I'm worthless to you". Not as frenetically energetic as his highly popular debut single, ‘Post Party Confusion’ of last year, it is, however, a big step up in production and song-crafting, and the chorus is damn catchy too.
