Words: Ellie Ward
Having just released their self-titled debut EP via Bandcamp on December 15, new east London four-piece Gypsy Cabs are set to ride into the new year on a wave of sun-bleached rock 'n' roll.
Drawing on influences from the classic pop sensibilities of the likes of The Kinks and The Beatles, psychedelic elements from artists such as Mac Demarco, Kevin Parker and Kurt Vile, Gypsy Cabs (who formed six months ago) swim in a sea of dreamlike, lo-fi ripples with a woozy, psych edge.
Still in their recording and live infancy, check out EP lead track 'Mornings' below, and keep watch for gigs early next year.
Gypsy Cabs are: Mike Harker (guitar, vocals), Byron Blakely (guitar), Omar Risk (bass), Oleg Bilenchuk (drums).
