IV LEAGUE - BLEACHED
The Melbourne quartet have something rather lovely here. They impressed us at the start of the year with 'Lit Screen', and the garage/alt-pop outfit now equal that with this latest single with Bella Venutti's glorious-sounding vocals lift and soar over over twinkly melodies. Star rating:★★★★☆
CHILDCARE - FILM CLUB
The London-based band bring a variety of scuzzy riffs and jangly melodies with a bhangra-funk twist to this off-kilter new single out on November 18 via Lost In The Manor Records. Catch live on tour next with Bastille on November 12 at SSE Hydro, Glasgow, and their own headliner at The Waiting Room in London on November 28. Star rating: ★★☆☆☆
HIDEOUT - DOCTOR
First single from the forthcoming second album, 'So Many Hoops/So Little Time' (due out February 3 2017 via Small Plates Records), by NYC-based songwriter Gabriel Rodriguez (also a member of indie-pop band Cults). An airy sub-three minute psych-pop groove. Star rating: ★★★☆☆
YOUNG ROMANCE - CRACKS
London duo's - Claire Heywood (vocals/drums), Paolo Ruiu (guitars/bass) - dark, sparse and downbeat track from their debut album 'Another's Blood', released on November 25 on Beggars Banquet. Catch live on November 16 for album launch show at The Victoria, Dalston in London. Star rating: ★★★☆☆
AyOwA - NEWCROSS
Slice of dark Danish electronica fuzz from the duo - Nicolai Kornerup and Hannah Schneider - on this second release via Music For Dreams, following debut single ‘Sommer’. Sung in Danish, it is inspired by London’s New Cross area. Star rating: ★★☆☆☆
