It's time once again for Little Indie's annual seaside excursion to The Great Escape - and for our usual pick of some of the artists we have down for bringing something special to the Brighton festival.
First up is noisy, psych-pop five-piece from Wales, Seazoo, who were shortlisted for the 2018 Welsh Music Prize.
1. First time at TGE?
Our second time playing. So chuffed to be invited back!
2. Are you a seasoned Escaper as a punter, or a first-time newbie?
Only played the once and it was a flying visit as we had to go to Abbey Road to master a record we did with Too Pure - had to get that in there!
3. Will you be a Brighton day-tripper or staying for the whole event?
We're staying over and really excited! It's a bit of a trip from North Wales so making the most of it. The last festival we played was SXSW in Texas, so in comparison it's only down the road!
4. The highlight of your set will be...?
The 7th song of our set, you'll have to be there to find out why!
5. Where will we be likely to find you after your set: at the bar, on
the beach, stuffing fish n chips, or other?
All of the above. Not sure which order yet though.
6. Aside from building sand(-or probably more pebble)castles on the beach with your little bucket and spade, what else will you be up to in Brighton?
Llinos, our keyboard player, has some family who live there, so we'll probably have some Welsh cakes with them! We've played Brighton a few times and there's a cafe opposite GAK music that we always have breakfast at, so I'm sure we'll pop there too. Essentially eating!
7. Who else playing at TGE are you hoping to see yourself, or would
recommend others should put on their must see list?
Ooh, I'd say King Nun, who we played with this year in London - they were awesome!! Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard, Kidsmoke and Mush too. We saw a few bands in SXSW - wouldn't mind checking out The Beths again.
8. Please give your festival appearance/s, venues and stage times.
We play 3:30pm at Komedia Studio Bar Saturday 11th May.
9. Any tips for festival goers?
Research parking, wear comfy shoes - not like Crocs, but trainers or something!
10. Complete this sentence: "You must see us at The Great Escape because..."
... because the 7th song on our set will blow your mind.
