It's all ‘Very Fun Times’ for London newbies Sterling Press

Words: Ellie Ward

The members of West London band Sterling Press kept themselves occupied during last year's first lockdown - by forming a band!

Now, drawing on influences from rock to punk, ska, and techno, the quartet have just dropped their debut single.

'Very Fun Times' bristles with lush textures of driving guitars and beats, as the urgent rhythms paint on a broad canvas.

“It’s about someone trying to fit in," states drummer Lucien Ismael of the track. "They haven’t yet discovered what they like, so instead, they follow the same trends as everyone else to feel good about themselves. They go off as one thing, but get paranoid about not fitting in, so they slot themselves into whatever gap they can find. They’ll say anything to please anyone. Despite all that, these are the best days of their life, they just don’t know it yet.”

Check them out now.
